Joint Managing Director
As Joint Managing Director, Bill Bassenger’s career and outlook encompasses the Kind & Company ethos of learning and personal development. With a family member working in a trade allied to the construction industry, Bill saw a suitable career path that was both practical and managerial. Joining the company in 1986 as a Surveyor, Bill has since progressed through the company gaining extensive experience as a RICS qualified Surveyor, a Projects Manager, becoming a member of the Chartered Institute of Building, Director of the company and ultimately Joint Managing Director.
His role within the company is to drive the strategic direction with a focus on having the right people and skills to match the challenges of future projects. Heavily involved with the recruitment and training of future surveyors, managers and tradespeople, Bill’s membership of the London Regional Training Board, together with him being a board member of the National Federation of Builders Main Contractors Group, has ensured a healthy appreciation of the opportunities available to drive the future of the industry and the role Kind & Company can perform.
In addition Bill responsible for the commercial and contractual aspects of the business, where negotiation and the ability to operate rationally are key. Overseeing the evolution of the company, constant industry changes, meeting new people and rising to overcome challenges are satisfying stimulations that make Bill’s role consistently interesting.
Away from the office and in line with his views on youth development, Bill has coached 6 to 19-year olds for Brentwood Rugby Club and has spent many years on the committee, ultimately becoming Vice-President; he avidly attends both club and international rugby matches and is also a keen golfer.
