In early October, we were delighted to handover the first of two Passivhaus accredited schemes we are currently delivering for our client Sutton Council.

Woodcote Road brings 11 affordable quality homes to the borough; the scheme includes additional sustainable features to ensure the properties achieve a Net Zero rating, driven by the council’s ambition to deliver homes with higher energy efficiency and lower energy bills for their residents.

During the handover ceremony, we were delighted to welcome the council's Deputy Mayor Louise Phelan to site to walk her and other dignitaries around the scheme.

Our MD Steve Juson who led the tour commented:

"The delivery team and I were really pleased to be able to show the Deputy Mayor and all the visitors around our newly completed project for the council. Our collaborative relationship with Sutton Council goes back a number of years; in 2018, we completed the borough's first tranche of affordable housing in over 30 years and today we are handing over the first Passivhaus homes they are delivering for their residents within the borough. It has been great to work with them on the delivery of Woodcote Road and we look forward to the future completion of their second Passivhaus scheme Beddington Lane in the near future."

Upon completion of the scheme, the project team welcomed onto site the Passivhaus assessors and were delighted to hear the preliminary report that the scheme had comfortably passed the Air Test required to contribute towards achieving Passivhaus accreditation. The team is currently awaiting final confirmation and approval and hope to see the official Passivhaus plaque in the post soon, so we can affix this to the new block.

We look forward to bringing more news on this and the completion of Beddington Lane in the future.
