Over two consecutive Mondays at ceremonies attended by the Mayor of Sutton we officially handed over the remaining two projects undertaken for Sutton Council to date. The development of 57 flats in Alcester Road, Wallington and 21 houses at Richmond Green, Beddington are part of a contract to build the first specifically built council homes for the borough in nearly thirty years.
With a focus on quality design and finishing we worked closely with the client team, the architects, and our supply chain to ensure we delivered a desirable and sustainable scheme that sets a high standard for the future.
Jayne McCoy, Deputy Leader of Sutton Council and Chair of the Housing, Economy & Business Committee, says, “Our key objective has been to focus on quality for these new homes.”
“We are investing significantly in the future of the borough. These are first-class homes we are proud of and they rightly set a high design benchmark for the private developers we seek to attract.”
The Alcester Road flats are arranged in five blocks around a communal space and are based on a concrete and steel frame. The Richmond Green houses are traditionally built and face on to the River Wandle. All have been designed and built with sustainability and longevity in mind.
