Ivor Goodsite Hoarding Competition 2017 Runners-up
Published 1 June 2017
Kind & Company, in conjunction with the Abbeyfield Kent Society and Lunsford Primary School in Larkfield, Kent have been named amongst the runners-up in the 2017 Ivor Goodsite Hoarding Competition run by the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
Based on the theme: Kent, Views from the Past, the paintings on MDF were completed by thirty children from Year 5 in their Tuesday art class before being mounted on our site hoarding. Working in six groups the children discussed the theme they would like to choose based on the chosen theme. Subjects chosen were: castles, beach huts, Spitfire aircraft, oast houses, the Invicta horse and an apple orchard. All children researched their theme together and had several attempts at sketching before enlarging it. They discussed each other’s strengths which would be used in the final drawing. They have loved this project. All have demonstrated that they feel special to be part of the project and are proud of their achievements. Further information is attached.
This project was fine example of our approach to community liaison during the construction phase of the project and one that adds to our commitment to improving the image of the industry. Thanks are extended to everyone involved in particular to Brewers Ltd who supplied the paint.
The St Martin's project in Larkfield is valued at £11.2M and on completion will provide a 72 bedroom Extra Care facility for the Abbeyfield Kent Society (AKS).
