Senior Projects Manager
To make a success of any construction project, a balance of the practical and intellectual is required. It is achieving this balance that inspires Brad. With family links to the industry, his career route has seen him initially training as a Surveyor within a large construction company and achieving a BSc in Quantity Surveying before moving to New Zealand and gaining further experience on the client side. Returning to the UK, Brad joined Kind & Company initially as a Surveyor progressing to Projects Manager and to his current position as Senior Projects Manager, becoming a Member of the Chartered Institute of Building in the meantime.
Being in control of the whole process is part of Brad’s motivation, where quality of delivery plus meeting the high expectations of both the client and himself are essential and rewarding. He likes the visual aspect of the job – seeing a project progress from flat earth to a physical structure likely to last decades. The Kind & Company definition of a Projects Manager also provides a high degree of autonomy with the ability to solve problems and make decisions based on the evidence available. More specifically, Brad gets a buzz out of the heavy engineering aspects of a project where large equipment, major temporary works and solving site logistics are part of the equation.
With regard to the industry, Brad believes the variety of people and competences available are what makes it successful. Everybody brings something to the delivery and, as a Senior Projects Manager, it is his role to bring those competences together to meet the clients’ requirements.
Outside work, Brad is keen on personal health and fitness and has completed marathons in both London and Berlin.
